Telescopic Handler & Forklift Level 2 NVQ Qualification Structure

The Qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.

Qualification Title: Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations (Construction) -Fork-lift Trucks

Minimum Credit Value: 21

Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this qualification: 210
An estimate of the total time it could reasonably be expected for a learner to achieve a qualification. TQT includes guided learning hours (GLH) plus an estimate of the time a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or other learning activities as directed by but not under the immediate guidance of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor.

Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification: 70
The time a learner spends in activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. This includes assessment if under supervision.

The learner will cover key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:
-Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace

-Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace.

The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in one of the following optional units:
-Preparing and operating rough terrain masted forklifts to lift and transfer loads in the workplace

-Preparing and operating industrial forklift trucks to lift and transfer loads in the workplace

-Preparing and operating sideloader forklifts to lift and transfer loads in the workplace

-Preparing and operating telescopic handlers to lift and transfer in the workplace

-Preparing and operating reach trucks to lift and transfer loads in the workplace.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 21 credits need to be attained. 5 credits must be achieved from the Mandatory Group and a minimum of 16 credits from the Optional Group.
