Dumper Level 2 NVQ Qualification Structure

The Qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.

Qualification Title: L2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations (Construction) -Transporting Loads

Minimum Credit Value: 17

Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this qualification: 170
An estimate of the total time it could reasonably be expected for a learner to achieve a qualification. TQT includes guided learning hours (GLH) plus an estimate of the time a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or other learning activities as directed by but not under the immediate guidance of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor.

Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification: 57
The time a learner spends in activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. This includes assessment if under supervision.

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units
-Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace

-Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace

The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in one of the following optional units:
-Preparing and operating forward tipping dumpers to receive, transport and discharge materials in the workplace

-Preparing and operating rear tipping dump trucks to receive, transport and discharge materials in the workplace

-Preparing and operating tractors with towed equipment for non-agricultural activities in the workplace

-Preparing and operating trailer-mounted concrete pumps to receive, pump and discharge materials in the workplace

-Preparing and operating self-propelled bowsers to receive, transport and discharge materials in the workplace

-Preparing and operating static concrete placing booms to discharge and place materials in the workplace

-Preparing and operating volumetric trucks to receive and transport materials in the workplace

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 17 credits need to be attained. This comprises the 2 mandatory units plus 1 unit from the optional unit group.
