Appointed Person Level 5 NVQ Qualification Structure

The Qualification structure below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.

Qualification Title: L5 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations -Planning Lifts (Construction)

Minimum Credit Value: 89

Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this qualification: 890
An estimate of the total time it could reasonably be expected for a learner to achieve a qualification. TQT includes guided learning hours (GLH) plus an estimate of the time a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or other learning activities as directed by but not under the immediate guidance of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor.

Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification: 274
The time a learner spends in activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. This includes assessment if under supervision.

The Learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:
-Evaluating and Selecting Work Methods to Meet Project or Operational Requirements in the Workplace

-Planning the Preparation of the Site for the Project or Operation in the Workplace

-Identifying, Allocating and Planning the Deployment and Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery in the Workplace

-Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace

-Planning Lifting Activities Using Cranes and/or Lifting Equipment in the Workplace

-Planning and Establishing Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Systems for Lifting Operations in the Workplace

-Planning Work Activities and Resources to Meet Work Requirements in the Workplace

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 89 credits need to be attained. This comprises the 7 mandatory units.
